One of the toughest techniques to master in windsurfing is turning around. The jibe combines sail skills and board skills, in just the right combination. In this class we can save you a lot of time wasted doing trial and error. Why reinvent the wheel, when we can teach you the key points and timesaving tips in just a few hours. The jibe isn't too tough if you have someone experienced to show you how. There is a process, and some fun exercises, that make perfect sense. We explain the theory of the jibe in easy to understand language. The Jibe technique is then broken down into smaller, more manageable steps. Our instructors can troubleshoot your technique, and prevent you from forming bad habits. We teach all levels of jibe including; crash-jibes, stop-jibes, step-jibes, flare-jibes, power-jibes, slam-jibes, duck-jibes, jump-jibes and racing "lay-down" jibe techniques. Most people are happy with mastering one solid jibe technique they can reliably use in all situations. This class can be tailored to the needs of the individual student. Gear not included. Waterstart class requires specialized equipment. Bring your own short-board or transition board, or you can rent your gear at our store from $45/day, and practice after your lesson.
