Your flight will initially take you over the southern side of the island and will include views of Honolulu (the gathering place) and four extinct volcanic craters - Puowaina (Punchbowl, home of the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific), Laeahi (Diamond Head), Hanauma Bay (a partially submerged crater), and Koko crater as well as Halona Blow Hole.
The flight will then travel along the beautifully rugged Makapu Point and light house, where whales can often be seen breaching during the winter months. You will then continue along the breathtaking windward side of the Koolau Mountains and Kailua Beach (consistently rated as one of the best beaches in the world). From there you will fly over stunning Kaneohe Bay, home of numerous ancient Hawaiian fishponds and Mokolii (Chinaman?s Hat). Then you will pass Kaaawa Valley, where numerous movies and television shows such as Jurassic Park, Windtalkers and Lost were filmed.
You will see the famous North Shore of Oahu, home of the famous surf spots of the Banzai Pipeline, Sunset Beach and Waimea Bay as well as the beautiful Waimea waterfalls. As your pilot flies over the central part of the island, you will see the worlds largest maze at the Dole Plantation. You will also see points of interest in the attack of Oahu on December 7, 1941 including Schofield Barracks, Wheeler Air field and Kolekole Pass. Then you will view Pearl Harbor the way it was meant to be seen - from the air. From this vantage point, you will see the Arizona Memorial, Battleship Row and the USS Missouri (where the Japanese surrendered at the end of WWII).
