Hike on the active Kilauea volcano inside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, through tropical and unique rain forests, along enchanting beaches and shores, and enjoy the spectacular sights of an island that has been shaped by lava and waterfalls. Immerse yourself in this paradise and marvel at the incredible diversity of coral reefs and their fish, sea turtles, dolphins, and whales (whale season: December - April). Welcome to the island of Hawaii, also called the Big Island. We offer the Big Island's best guided tours for small groups. Sure, there are larger tour companies on Hawai'i Island, but none offer the level of care and customization that we can provide. We have access to the best places at the best times. Owners Katie and Nick will be your outdoor guides as we visit unbelievable reef ecosystems, active lava flows, and quiet camping locales. From the longest of overnight tours, to the islands' only land-based snorkel tour we've got you covered. We are an insured and permitted tour operator and a member of the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau. Don't settle for less!

ACTIVITIES:

Hilo Waterfalls Small Group Tour: Burgers, Waipio Overlook, Waterfalls, Saddle Road

Food ?n? Falls: A delicious way to spend a day in Hawaii! Waterfalls, a burger, incredible views, education, and fun!

The luscious countryside stretches before us as we head to Waimea and one of the most amazing burger joints in America! Local beef, veggies, and buns start our day the right way. Not a meat eater? We get it, there are some yummy vegetarian options (gluten free options too) like a mushroom burger or taro burger. The beautiful views of Waipio valley from the overlook are next. Get ready for some interesting stories about the history of this valley. Sample some portuguese donuts (Malasadas) and continue to Akaka falls to see a towering waterfall cascading into a deep pool. Your guide will point out native and non-native plants on your short walk (20 min). Let?s stop at a fruit stand to try some local fruit that are in season like apple banana, lychee, rambutan and white pineapple to name a few. Our last waterfall of the day is the picturesque Rainbow falls! We will walk (5 min) to one of the largest Banyan trees on the island. A scenic drive to Liliuokalani Gardens and Moku Ola (Coconut Island) will be a great way to finish our visit in Hilo. We travel back to the west side of the island on the famous Saddle Road (Daniel K. Inouye Hwy) that climbs up to a high lava desert at 6,600 ft and cuts between the 2 largest volcanoes in Hawaii (Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea). At higher elevations we are able to see colder climate zones and vast native Ohia forests. Your guide will bring you to your accommodation where you will have time to go to dinner, a luau, or get ready for your flight. A fun and educational adventure in Paradise.

The trip:
When we pick you up at 9 am this is the time to put on the gear and get wet. The ocean is still calm and clear and the reef animals are busy. Sea turtles swim by and dolphins patrol the area.
After a ride through different climatic zones and a vast landscape I will take you into a rain forest. It is time to put on the hiking gear and tune in with the sights and sounds of the lush green. On a hike we will explore endemic and native species and look out for wild pigs. There is a small, serene park in the forest, the best place to enjoy the handmade lunch.
Next stop history. Let's see if you have what it takes to become the next king of Hawaii.
Time to jump in the pool. On the way to a big, black, natural infinity pool at the end of the single lane road we will see waterfalls, orchids and banyan trees.
Listen to the sound of the waves and grab the snorkeling gear to observe life under the surface.
Base-camp is around the corner. After setting up the tents and cooking dinner, it is time for the hot tub, a naturally heated pool.
After sunset, the night sky is filled with stars and I invite you to find some constellations.
On this side of the island it is the place to watch the sunrise as it happens. The breakfast buffet is open and the tide pools are a good place to start the day in the water.
Lava trees are close and lead us the way to Volcanoes National Park. In the park, we will refill our fresh water supplies with filtered rainwater and explore the life circle of this volcanic island and see why ginger plants can be harmful to this virgin environment. We will hike through pitch black lava tubes, visit the steam vents and explore the sulfur banks before we arrive at our next trail head. After lunch in the shade, it is time to hike across newer lava flows, explore craters, cinder cones and see Hawaiian petroglyphs.
We will spend the night in the park after cooking dinner and setting up the tents.
The next day we will leave the park after breakfast and head to the next historic site, Captain Cook. We will learn why the discoverer has his own monument and explore the ancient Place of Refuge. There is a beautiful beach nearby and this will be the place where we prepare lunch.
After lunch, it is time to get wet again. We will stop at one of the nicest reefs and explore the coast from the water. For you to discover are star fish, squid, puffer fish, barracudas, discus fish, snapper, parrot fish, moray eels, sting rays and more of the estimated 230,000 species in the water.

The trip:
Our day begins with some beaches that often make the list of top ten beaches in the world. Dream of a land where the sand is white and the water is a crystal clear blue? Let us take you there. Lunch is prepared at the beach, the best way to enjoy local fruit and products is in the environment in the land where they are made. We may be able to spot whales from December to April and lets look for some honu (turtle in Hawaiian).
Walking to the fields of Petroglyphs you are taken back to a different time when Hawaiians were connected to the land in many ways and their mana (power) was strong.
The sunsets on these beaches are amazing and will give you pictures to make friends jealous for years to come. If the sea is cooperating we will be donning the snorkel gear and exploring the world under the surface. These beaches are the reason so many people continue to visit this beautiful island.
We will cook dinner together and set up tents for a time of Ukulele playing and telling good stories at the end of a full day. Sleep with the stars overhead and the sound of the waves to lull you to sleep.
Breakfast is under blue sky with ocean view. Time to heat up and enjoy the light trade winds. After a ride through different climatic zones and a vast landscape I will take you into a rain forest. It is time to put on the hiking gear and tune in with the sights and sounds of the lush green. On a hike we will explore endemic and native species and look out for wild pigs.
