Hike Maui
Hike Maui is the oldest adventure/eco land tour on Maui. Begun in 1983, our guides are all trained naturalists who weave geology, botany, ethnobotany and history in amongst the fun of hiking. Their stories are inspiring and fascinating, and you can read about them at www.hikemaui.com/guides.html. We intend to introduce you to the natural beauty of Maui; teach you the history and workings of nature; guide you safely into pristine and breath-taking environments; and share with you the uplifting energy of this island in a way that expands awareness, increases well-being and instills a sense of wonder and awe at the workings of nature. Please see our web site at www.hikemaui.com for a more complete description of our program, slide shows and more pictures as well as biographies of our guides.

Half-day Waterfalls & Rain Forest Hike
It's unusual for a rain forest valley to have this many waterfalls close together, so this is a popular spot on Maui's famous Hana Highway. But, since we know the owners well, we're the only tour company allowed in the valley. We hike 2.5 miles round trip to four or five waterfalls from 10 to 40 feet high. Great waterfalls, big, clear swimming pools, terrific bamboo and tropical rain forests, fresh-water streams. Plus, we jump off rock cliffs and swing from rope swings into the pools. It's fun and it's beautiful. And the waterfalls can't be beat. >>> SUMMARY <<< - 2.5 miles round trip - moderate for some; easy for most - very popular valley on famous Hana Highway - five waterfalls 10 to 40 feet high - rope swinging into two pools - jumping off rock cliffs from 5 to 15 feet - We are the only tour company allowed in the valley. >>> DETAILS <<< Meet in Central Maui at 9:30. Kayak, Snorkel and Waterfalls Hike
Do it all -- waterfall and rain forest hike, ocean kayak and snorkel -- all in one trip. This tour showcases Maui's beauty both offshore and onshore. First, we kayak along West Maui's rugged coastline for 2.5 hours. We snorkel by sliding off the kayak into a sea filled with colorful fish and large, green sea turtles. Then we hike the one-mile Short Waterfalls Walk. We're hiking to two waterfalls, from 10 to 20 feet high, where we swim, climb and jump into clear, fresh pools. No experience needed for the kayak. We teach you well. >>> SUMMARY <<< - 2.5 hours of ocean kayaking - snorkel off the kayak with green sea turtles - 1 mile hike (the "Short Adventure Hike") - moderate for most, easy for many - remote wilderness rain forest valley - two waterfalls, 10 to 25 feet high >>> DETAILS <<< 7:15 a.m. meet Kelii Kayak Co.(our partner) on the beach at Olowalu 2 to 2:30 p.m. return to your car >>> CREDENTIALS <<< Hike Maui is the oldest, most experienced hiking company in the state - celebrating 25 years (since 1983) of adventures. Haleakala Volcano Hike 4-Miles
Grandeur, majesty, vastness. Haleakala's energy is intense and ethereal, and it's absolutely silent. We'd never visit Maui without experiencing the Crater. It's where our guides go for inspiration. A great amphitheater of silence and expansiveness. A place of beauty that always evokes awe. The four-mile trip is a good Crater sampler -- we hike through three very different environments with views stretching for more than a hundred miles in all directions. We hike two miles at the 8,000-foot level through native alpine scrub forest on a lava rock trail where most of the plants are rare, endemic species. We then hike another two miles at 10,000 feet along a sandy cinder path called Sliding Sands Trail, a route famous for its panorama of giant cinder cones, each one colored in the rose-orange-tan hues of the desert. An extra for those interested in endemic birds: we can do a half-mile loop trail at 7,000 feet through Hosmer Grove, a temperate dry-land cloud forest. >>> SUMMARY <<< - Haleakala means House of the Sun - It is Maui's most famous volcano (dormant) - hike two miles at the 8,000-ft. level - hike two miles at the 10,000-ft. summit - experience three different environments - an aerobic hike without being strenuous - experience a high alpine desert - for birders: endemic birds at 7,000 feet >>> DETAILS <<< Meet in Central Maui at 9:30.
