Kipahulu Ohana The Kipahulu Ohana (Family) is a non-profit organization founded by Native Hawaiian families with ancient heritage in the Kipahulu area. We offer interpretive programs through a Cooperative Agreement with Haleakala National Park. All proceeds directly support our cultural and environmental restoration and education projects. Custom tours and group rates are also available.

ACTIVITIES:

Cultural Interpretive Hikes Join a Native Hawaiian guide from the Kipahulu 'Ohana on a hike through history in the Kipahulu area of Haleakala National Park, visiting sites representing several eras of history, arriving at the inspiring beauty of Kapahu Living Farm, where traditional lo'i kalo (taro patches) have been restored to active production with taro and other culturally important plants. Enjoy a sampling of the crops grown at the farm, then continue up through the bamboo forest. Our 3.5-hour hike includes the upper portion of Pipiwai Trail to the 400-foot Waimoku Falls. Cancellation Policy: Cancellation Policy: If you cancel 24 hours or more prior to the time of the hike, you will receive a full refund less a 10% cancellation fee. If you cancel within 24 hours for any reason, you will receive no refund. If Kipahulu Ohana cancels (e.g. for inclement weather), you will receive a full 100% refund.
