Most of the cave is easy walking. There is no paved walkway throughout. We hike on the original floor of the cave, mostly smooth cinders,but some sections are a bit irregular. You'll have to duck down in a couple of spots & any crawling is optional for those wearing long pants. Physically athletic only! You've got to crawl through a couple of tight spots & climb a ladder on this tour but that's just part of the fun. Trails become rougher and the lava formations are great. 8-10 hikers maximum.
