We are Maui' s best equipped and most affordable unguided downhill tour company. We offer the longest ride of all the unguided tours from Haleakala to the North Shore beach town of Paia. We give you an opportunity to experience the joy and freedom of an independent adventure on Maui. You ride at your own pace!! Every ride we offer begins at the same location, just outside the entrance to Haleakala National Park(6,500ft). All tours and rentals include Trek hardtail 21 speed mountain bikes, helmet, Columbia rain/wind gear, gloves, and a backpack with lock and map. You will ride down mountain switchbacks with spectacular bi-coastal views, then through upper Kula and Makawao Town in gorgeous Upcountry Maui. Enjoy the freedom to stop wherever you feel inspired to. Visit galleries and tropical flower farms along the way. Stop for a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants or cafes. All with virtually no pedaling -- it's 99% downhill! The ride comes to an end in the heart of Paia town, at the base of the mountain. Once you have returned the bikes and equipment, there is more than enough time left in the day to take advantage of our north shore beaches and lush waterfalls just minutes from our office!! ACTIVITIES:
Van tour to Kalahaku overlook, an intimate sunrise viewing area, at the edge of Haleakala crater, away from the crowds. We arrive at the lookout with just enough time to stargaze before the predawn colors begin. From there we spend about an hour watching the sun slowly emerge across the basin of the crater. Once the sun rises, we drive to our staging area and get the bike ride started.
Van tour to Haleakala's summit (10,023ft), where you will be able to enjoy a spectacular view of Haleakala crater, check out the rare silversword plants, stop by the visitor's center, and take advantage of numerous photo opportunities. We then drive to our staging area, and get the bike ride started.
