Slack Key Show - Masters of Hawaiian Music

Jeff Peterson - Slack Key Guitar Instrumentalist

Adult Price: $41.66 - with Goldcard $41.66

Jeff plays Hawaiian standards and originals with extraordinary skill, range, and versatility. Classically trained, yet steeped in Hawaiian cowboy and Slack Key music traditions of his Maui home. Won recent Slack Key Album of the Year award. Hosted by Grammy winning George Kahumoku plus Maui sensation, Da Ukulele Boyz

Born on Maui, Jeff grew up on the slopes of Haleakala where he learned the rich heritage of Hawaiian music from his father, a paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) on the Haleakala Ranch. This music made a deep impression and continues to inspire him today.

As he began studying guitar seriously, he delved into a range of musical genres, including jazz and classical studying with the celebrated classical guitarist Benjamin Verdery, slack key guitarist Ozzie Kotani, jazz guitarists Joe Diorio, Larry Koonse, and Frank Vignola.

He has participated in the island-wide Annual Slack Key Guitar Festivals and is highly regarded by his peers. Jeff has performed with a wide range of artists and groups including Eric Clapton, James Galway, Michael Feinstein, the Honolulu Symphony, and the Hawaii Opera Theatre.
