Alaska is known for dog sled adventures during our snowy winter! Would you love to take a dog sled ride, but you’re visiting during Fall? Salmon Berry has a solution: our fall dog cart tour at the homestead of four-time Iditarod Champion Dallas Seavey!

This educational and fun tour departs from Anchorage before making the fully-guided drive north to dog sled country. Our first stop is in Wasilla where we’ll visit the Iditarod Race Headquarters to learn more about The Last Great Race. Passing through Willow to the quaint town of Talkeetna for a delicious lunch at the historic Talkeetna Roadhouse, a 100-year-old property that has been featured on the Travel Channel and Food Network for their world-famous eats and treats!

After lunch, we’ll drive to Dallas Seavey Racing. At the kennel you’ll have the opportunity to take your photo with Iditarod-winning Alaskan huskies and cuddle adorable puppies! Listen to stories from the trail while the dogs are harnessed into the custom wheeled sled.

Your musher guide will then steer you through 2 miles of Alaskan backcountry for approximately 30 minutes. This cart style ride can be a bit bumpy on the fall terrain, so the seats are padded for your comfort. A photo stop is made halfway through your unforgettable fall ride to pose with the canine athletes in front of the enchanting backdrop! Complete your cart-style sledding experience toward the kennel for a continued tour of the homestead. Try to keep up with the lively future Iditarod racing huskies during your puppy nature walk!

Following your homestead tour, you'll either be dropped off at your Talkeetna overnight accommodation or you’ll return to Anchorage with closing commentary from your guide. Complimentary snacks and water are available in the sprinter van.

Special Note: this tour is available with pick up in Talkeetna and drop off in Anchorage

Please note that your guide's gratuity is not included in the price of your tour. We recommend tipping your guide 10% - 15% of the tour price.
