Cancellation & Refund Policies

Shaka Gold Membership

As a consumer advocate, not refunding an unused Shaka Gold Membership contradicts our purpose. To avoid refunds we request you research activities & attractions to ensure participation. Determine before purchasing the membership if it will save more than it costs. Please do not expect to go up to any merchant in the state of Hawaii and receive a discount.

If after researching you determine you will not save more than the cost of the membership, please do not purchase a Shaka Gold Membership. You'll end up costing our "do good" organization money & reputation.

If while using your membership, a participating merchant doesn't recognize their discount or the program, call our office 1-800-398-9698 ext 111 to speak with the Executive Director, Toni Marie Davis. She will turn the situation around provided you did not book through a middleman. The membership discounts are only extended if you book direct with the owner of the business.

Do not purchase membership based on the chance of obtaining 50% off owners' tickets. These are limited in number and if you are lucky enough to be get - it's just that luck. On the first of the month nearly 100 people are competing for these tickets.

If you are reading this page for the first time and you were unable to use the membership or misunderstood how the membership worked and would like a refund, email: refunds@a3h.org and explain the reason(s) for your request. As a not for profit that lobbies for consumer protection it would be ironic for us not to refund you. We do charge a 5% fee on all refunds to cover processing fees.

Owners Tickets

Do not purchase a Shaka Gold Membership based on the purchase of Owners Tickets. Owners Ticket are a limited number and are sold on a first come first serve basis. They are good for one year from the date of purchase. These tickets are not refundable unless your scheduled excursion is canceled by the supplier. All owners' ticket refunds are subject to the approval of the activity supplier. To ensure an expedient refund include the date, time, name and title of the employee canceling the excursion.
